Meet Our Team

Since 2009, The Father's Heart Foundation has been working with both local and foreign missionaries, and has received thousands of hours of volunteer labour through our network of non-profits, churches, and missionaries in El Salvador. We are SO thankful for each person who has contributed to the establishment and growth of FHF, to where we are today -thank you! From 2009 to date we also work with Salvadoran lawyers, accountants, architects, engineers, bricklayers, and labourers. We are working on building up our local team of both full and part-time employees, as we slowly grow our resources and capability of hiring more people.

Our current management team consists of our founders: Samuel Okurut as Executive Director, Charity Okurut as Director of Childcare (policies) and current Director of Communications and Teams.

"At-Risk-Youth"

Because of safety issues, we cannot introduce our Discipleship Sustainability Farm workers to you online. We work with several at-risk youth and young adults - offering employment, training, and discipleship.

Missionary Teams

We work with local and foreign teams from churches, schools, and organizations like Youth With A Mission. If YOU would like to join or lead a team to El Salvador to do physical labour or evangelism, then check out our team flyer and contact us to plan your trip.

Melissa Mullet

Melissa is our missionary homeschool teacher! She was born in the USA in November,1995.

Melissa first fell in love with El Salvador coming in high school  missionary teams with Agape School to Love and Hope Children's Home (dear friends of FHF!).

Melissa has wanted to be a missionary since she was a young girl - her adoptive family were missionaries to Thailand, and she feels strongly about giving the fatherless and a home and a family where they can be

cared for and loved.

Why do you want to work with FHF in El Salvador?

"I felt God calling me to help the Okurut family, by teaching their four loving, caring, and energetic children! My heart also desired to help those in need. I want to do what God has called me to do, and to live out His Word.

I can't wait to see the Foundation's Village up and running!"

Do YOU want to join our team?

Thanks! Message sent.

Connor Dejong

Connor Dejong was born in Hamilton, Ontario on August 15, 1994.

Connor has worked in construction for roughly 6 years, and has some experience in missions including going to the YWAM Biblical Counseling school in El Salvador.

He is looking forward to working hard and building relationships with the (local, at-risk, young) men he will be working with. He looks forward to both discipling others and to receiving discipleship. He is committed to serving for at least 2 years, beginning April 2019.

Why do you want to work with FHF in El Salvador? “because I think what FHF is doing is amazing! Ever since Samuel told us (YWAM Biblical Counseling School students) his vision, I knew I wanted to help out and be a part of it. I like that it isn’t a rush to get it all done but that you want to be intentional with the people you’re working with.”

Hannah Alarcón

Hannah was born in Annapolis, Maryland on February 19, 1994. She came on her first missions trip to El Salvador in 2010 and couldn't stop returning after that!

She completed a Discipleship Training School with YWAM in 2014 in Tijuana, México. Then returned back to Maryland, for her bachelor's in Family and Human Services with a track to Nonprofit Leadership, with Towson University. Hannah moved to El Salvador in 2017 after graduating, to do missions, and marry her best friend Josimar Alarcon, who she met in 2010.

Since then they have worked with a soccer school in Apopa, completed a Discipleship Training School together in San Salvador, and worked as missionaries at "Comunidad Cristiana Jesus El Buen Pastor" in Chalchuapa, Santa Ana.

Why do you want to work with FHF in El Salvador?

"I am looking forward to working with the Kids Club using sports because I believe God has given us so many resources and talents to share His gospel with His children! I am excited to work with FHF because I love their mission and believe that every child, person, and family deserves to experience the love of the Father."
